Collaborating with the KPMG Futures team - AI Labs, I played a key role in building the hub from the ground up by developing the Kodak Design System, establishing a cohesive brand image and delivering refined, high-fidelity prototypes for key service lines, including Transformation Delivery, Operations Advisory, Board.ai, Tech Risk & Cyber, IP Engine and Financial Risk & Analytics.

Mission

The KPMG Futures team—AI Labs—embarked on a mission to transform the consultancy service experience. Leveraging strategic foresight capabilities and emerging technologies, we redefined how information was gathered, analysed, and utilised across the engagement phases for consultants and clients.

These developments significantly reduced the time required for initial analysis, streamlined scope definition, and enhanced collaboration, ultimately accelerating the journey from insights to actionable outcomes.

As part of this initiative, we conducted a thorough evaluation of the essential tasks within the discovery phase, uncovering multiple opportunities for process optimisation. This effort led to the creation of an interactive prototype incorporating advanced functionalities. This prototype introduced a new, efficient approach to understanding the complexities within our clients’ organisations and tailoring our expertise to their needs.

By simplifying the consultant’s workflow and elevating client interactions, this solution made the consulting process more intuitive, efficient, and impactful for everyone involved.

Transformation Delivery

The service line is equipped with powerful tools to streamline project management and enhance collaboration. The Status Dashboard provides real-time visibility into project progress, ensuring teams stay aligned on deliverables and deadlines. The Organisation Chart offers a clear view of key stakeholders and team structures, enabling smooth communication and coordination.

The Document Manager feature centralises all project-related files, ensuring secure and efficient access to critical information. The Project Overview consolidates essential details, such as objectives, timelines, and milestones, into an intuitive dashboard for at-a-glance understanding. Lastly, the Activity Log tracks all project actions and updates, fostering transparency and accountability across teams. Together, these features make Transformation Delivery platform a user-friendly solution for managing complex client engagements.

Board.ai

Board.ai offers a comprehensive set of features designed to enhance the efficiency of board meetings for board members. The tool is managed exclusively by the company secretary (Cosec). The Agenda feature allows real-time adjustments during meetings, ensuring discussions stay on track and responsive to evolving priorities.

The Transcript feature provides accurate, live documentation of discussions, capturing key points for future reference and the Live Quote feature captures and highlights key moments from live board discussions. A secure Messaging Tool facilitates communication between the cosec and participants, while Board Papers enable the seamless sharing and review of essential documents.

The Voting feature supports real-time decision-making on critical matters. The Meeting Duration Widget promotes efficient time management, and the Summarising Board Meeting feature generates actionable post-meeting summaries. An integrated Calendar ensures easy scheduling and management of upcoming sessions.

Tech Risk & Cyber

The Tech Risk & Cyber provides a comprehensive solution for managing and mitigating digital risks. Key features include Current State Mapping, which allows users to assess risk across various categories, providing a clear view of an organisation’s security landscape. Neo, the AI chat bot facilitates real-time collaboration, while the File Explorer ensures easy access to relevant documents.

The Document Manager centralises important files, streamlining the workflow. In terms of cybersecurity, Kodak offers a Vulnerabilities List to track security gaps, a Threats Intelligence Feed for real-time updates on emerging risks, and Maturity Analysis, which visualises security posture through a spider graph, providing an insightful overview of risk levels and areas for improvement. These tools work together to empower KPMG teams to proactively address tech risks and ensure cybersecurity across client engagements.

IP Engine

The IP Engine provides a personalised platform for managing intellectual property and enhancing business capabilities. Its Personalised Dashboard offers users a tailored view of key information, including their progress, skills and capabilities, recent qualifications, and a snapshot of their user network and recent projects. This centralised dashboard helps users track their IP-related activities and stay informed about their development.

Neo, the AI assistant, is integrated into the IP Engine, providing real-time support, answering queries, and guiding users through tasks such as portfolio management and market analysis.

Design System

As part of AI Labs’ mission to redefine the consultancy service experience, I developed a transformative design system which served as the backbone of a cohesive and scalable digital framework, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all consultant and client-facing tools. Built with a focus on adaptability, it incorporated a comprehensive library of components, typography, colour schemes, and interaction patterns tailored to KPMG’s unique needs. This system supported the immediate project goals and also established a foundation for future innovation and scalability within KPMG’s consulting services.

Accessible colours

The Kodak colour palette is crafted to improve accessibility and usability, reflecting KPMG’s commitment to inclusive design. It features high-contrast, WCAG-compliant colours for key states such as success, warning, error, and information. Neutral tones provide clarity and maintain user focus, while accent colours—drawn from KPMG’s brand—add energy and establish visual hierarchy. This thoughtful palette makes the platform intuitive, easy to navigate, and accessible to all users, supporting the effective management and delivery of client programs.
